Aim
The aim of the course is to introduce the student to the main topics of Health Psychology within an interdisciplinary perspective. Particular attention will be given to the use of new technologies in order to promote wellbeing. This course is also designed to familiarize students with knowledge and understanding of evaluating cognitive behavioral approaches to psychological management of mental disorders and long-term physical health conditions. Some interventions are accepted and recommended by National Treatment Guidelines (such as NICE) but there is a need to improve access to treatment, cost-effectiveness and clinical outcome. Approaches can range from standard face to face intervention through web-based and the use of virtual reality or smart-phone technology to deliver targeted interventions.

- Definition of eHealth and practical examples
- Construing a research/intervention project using new technologies in health promotion
- The current history of the psychotherapy evidence-based
- Research and design in evidence-based interventions
- Computer-delivered assessment/treatment and outcome evaluation
