Full attendance of a course is acknowledged to students present at least 70% of the course hours.
Attendance in a course similar to one already attended the previous year cannot be claimed within the 150hrs.
BMCS courses cannot be attended remotely unless for health reasons connected to the Covid-19 pandemic. In that case, the student needs to notify the teacher before starting the course in order to receive the Zoom link to attend remotely.
Non-BMCS courses
Starting from the XXXV series, a maximum of 15% of the due attendance hours can be accumulated by attending doctoral courses external to BMCS. In order to be considered within the 150 hours, a non-BMCS course must:
- be explicitly at a doctoral level specifically;
- be approved in advance in writing (e.g. by email) by your supervisor, unless they are part of the doctoral school in psychology (max 2), mathematics or Information Engineering;
- not overlap in time with mandatory ones offers by BMCS;
- not overlap in content with those offered by BMCS. (For instance, additional courses related to presenting or writing scientific papers will not be counted within the 150 hours since BMCS already offers a mandatory one on this subject.)
After attending a non-BMCS course, to claim it within the 150hrs, you need to have this form signed by the teacher and attached to your annual report.
The course of Academic English for Doctoral students (CLA), the online English course offered by the BMCS program ("ABA"), and the CARS seminars (Dept of General Psychology) cannot be claimed within the 150 hrs.
Course enrollment
To enroll in a course, please access that course on the Moodle platform; this will also allow you to be reached by the teacher for last-minute communication and to access the course material. If you are a Ph.D. student enrolled in a different doctoral program interested in attending a BMCS class, please contact the teacher well in advance to ask for permission. Non-UNIPD scholars/students will also need to pay a small insurance fee (payment platform and insurance info).
